Thursday Thoughts #CCCWrite 3

Our three prompts have brought us stories and ideas that emphasize the importance of connected learning. From these posts, I’ve rediscovered podcasting and considered the importance of sharing resources, especially as presenters.

But what will really shines through is our emphasis on relationships — on being human, and in respecting the human behind the words and images online.

Today, my daughter-in-law is on vacation in Mexico and shared a picture of a restaurant, Ubuntu.

“Ubuntu,” means “I am, because you are”. It refers to our interconnectedness and the ripple effects we have from our actions. The Archbishop Desmond Tutu put it this way:

“We think of ourselves far too frequently as just individuals, separated from one another, whereas you are connected and what you do affects the whole World. When you do well, it spreads out; it is for the whole of humanity.”

I believe our posts this week demonstrate this affect, and I’m glad I was reminded of it from a ripple from my family. That’s how the world works.

Enjoy your words: you are affecting the world!
