On the hillsides the large arrowleaf balsamleaf sunflowers bloom through June, but the shrub-steppe floor on which we walk between big sagebrush, antelope bitterbrush, and rabbitbrush is often just barren dirt and rock.
What could possibly grow there?
All summer long, we are blessed with the lovely, but tiny desert yellow daisy, Erigeron linearis.
Nature provides us with beauty everywhere.
