Many lakes are actually reservoirs created by dams. Our area lakes are reservoirs, which means the lake levels fluctuate and may hide or expose hazards. In addition, with our warming climate, our area is prone to wildfires, which means helicopters and other airplanes may need to dip into the reservoir to collect the water they drop to help stop the fires.
